Review and Monday Must Have:: thredUP

Happy Monday lovelies!

If you are an avid reader of this blog you'll know my love of the website thredUP. ThredUP is one of the largest online consignment shops for women and children. The eCommerce website has a variety of different brands and styles and they are all priced very affordably. Up until recently I had just been a shopper at thredUP. With my most recent order, of a Rebecca Minkoff bag, I asked for a clean out bag. I went through my closet and found some things I didnt wear and shipped them to thredUP. The postage was all paid for which was great considering I shipped them several lbs of clothes.

About two weeks after sending the bag I got an email saying that I got $75 upfront and can make around $100 more in consignment! How cool! The whole process of selling on thredUP was super simple and I like the fact that whatever they wouldn't buy (which luckily didn't happen to me) would be donated to goodwill.

Have you explored thredUP yet? I created a personal style shop! You can even shop the choices I chose on their website through The Preppy Student collectionI chose a whole bunch of different preppy items that you can check out here!

Friday Fancies: Summer Weddings

 Friday, June 27, 2014

It's summer! You know what that means: flip flops, ice cream, excruciating heat and of course....

Summer Weddings!

For many couples summer is the ideal time to get married so it is not surprising that many of my friends have weddings to attend in these next few weeks. Although I am not quite at the age where my friends are getting married, I love that Long Distance Loving chose the theme of this week's Friday Fancies to be about summer weddings.

Here are some outfits I put together for this week's challenge.

For an outdoor daytime wedding, I am loving this turquoise Shoshanna dress. The gold Michael Kors wedges will not sink into grass the way heels do making them the perfect outdoor shoes. The metallic coloring is still formal and the gold dangle earrings are a nice pair. I love the simple elegance of the white nails and they have the added bonus of making your hands look super tan!

For a wedding that is in the evening but indoors I love this Alice + Olivia yellow lace dress. The yellow color is very "summer" but the black accessories and kate spade heels make it an evening ensemble.

Have you been to a wedding yet this summer? What would you wear to a summer wedding?

Review and Giveaway:: Adam Block Design

 Tuesday, June 24, 2014

Okay, I'll admit it. I am a total sorority girl. Not only I am proud to call myself a sister of the wine and blue but I am currently president of my chapter of Pi Beta Phi. Over the last three years, I have acquired my fair share of Pi Phi swag but I don't think I'm done quite yet. i am still always in search for the next sorority item from t shirts to fanny packs.

There are a couple online retailers that specialize in sorority apparel and I love to peruse and browse them for fun. One of my favorites? Adam Block Design. I would consider Adam Block Design, or ABD, to be one of the more innovate companies for sorority apparel. They have awesome screenprinting designs and high quality clothing options.

Just searching by organization you are able to see tons of designs that other chapters have made through ABD. The minimum at Adam Block Design is 24 and it is very easy to customize or design your own product. Right now I am loving the sorority backpacks and might work with ABD to get a quote for our chapter!

ABD was actually kind enough to send me some samples to review. I received this orange Keep Calm and Go Greek womens cut crop top. Although I am not the biggest fan of shorter style shirts this tee is SO comfy! It is seriously one of the softest sorority shirts I have ever gotten. I love the Panhellenic support of this top and will wear it proudly in the fall. I think it will look extra cute paired with a maxi skirt. The top is by the brand bella and the screenprint is very good quality. I dont think it will crack or fade in the was.

ABD also sent me this extremely cool tie headband. Its called a "Breaker" and the one I got was rainbow. I love the material of the tie and will wear it for spirit events and Derby Days.

I love some of ABD's designs. Just look at how creative, trendy, and awesome they are:

Do you have a favorite ABD design? I love all the Lilly prints. I also love the fact that Adam Block Designs are all official licensed greek products so you know they are not illegally using trademarked greek symbols and letters. There's a little pop up chat box when you browse the site so you are always connected to an associate if you have any questions.

My chapter will most likely be using Adam Block Designs this fall for our formal recruitment shirts. They gave us a good price and were easy to work with!

This is also the 2nd week of ABD's Great Greek Giveaway. Don't forget to enter to win some of your sorority product's!

Toms Sale at Hautelook!

 Monday, June 23, 2014

By far some of my most worn shoes in my closet are my pairs of Toms. I am a huge fan of the brand, from their social mission to the comfortable sole, and I was delighted to see that some of the pairs are on sale today at Hautelook.

I'm sure you all know hautelook, but if you don't it is one of the many online sample sale sites. I find Hautelook to have the best selection of contemporary casual items and besides the Toms boutique I might purchase something from theBalm or even Wildfox collections.

I am so tempted to buy a couple pairs of toms but might just settle on one pair of wedges. I am thinking about picking up this red pair. Red is such a useful shoe color and adds a pop to so many different outfits.

Did you purchase any Toms on Hautelook today? If so which ones?

Monday Must Have: Maxi Skirt

 Monday, June 2, 2014

Hi Y'all!

Hope you all are having a wonderful Monday morning! I am just settling into California where I'll be spending my summer. I'll be working in an office that leans a lot more towards casual dress than anything business. I instinctually love to dress up so this might pose to be a bit of a challenge. Luckily I brought with me a secret weapon: the maxi skirt!

This summer I am loving all the different patterns and textures that come in a maxi skirt style. A plain black skirt is certainly timeless but I am also finding myself liking chevron and striped varieties.

There are so many different ways to wear a maxi skirt. The most popular are probably pairing the long skirt with a tight cami or even with a crop top. I tend to put a cardigan or blouse on top of my tank/maxi combination. For accessories I prefer to wear long necklaces to highlight the vertical aspects of the item.

How do you wear your maxi skirt? What do you think of this trend?
