Important! Blogger Update

 Sunday, June 30, 2013

My lovely, gorgeous, and very intellegent readers. Today is the last day of Google Reader. If you have not yet heard, Google is shutting down its reader and Google Friend Connect tomorrow July 1st. It's a little weird to start new as a blogger. Ive had a blog for the past four years and I have until now relied on GFC. Im excited for this change in blogging and hope that my amazing 2000+ followers will switch over to bloglovin.

As a blogger, I relied on Google Friend Connect to engage followers in subscriptions and to subscribe myself to feeds of other blogs. Without the service I hope I can encourage you my fellow readers to join a site I feel is just as thorough and easy to use.

Bloglovin is a great replacement from GFC and I use it  daily. Here is how you can import your sites from GFC to bloglovin.

Follow on Bloglovin

If I reach 1000 followers on bloglovin I will start an awesome giveaway!

Must Have: Sandals

 Wednesday, June 26, 2013

Its summer. Its time to move your boots and coats asaide and slip into some pretty and comfortable sandals for the hot weather. Personally, I live in sandals every summer but look for choices with an arch. Although I prefer the look of wedges, flat sandals are so much easier to walk around in and I find myself wearing the slim styles for the majority of the summer.

What kind of sandals are you wearing this summer? Are you loving these flat styles like me? Which one is your favorite?

Vera Bradley Update!

 Sunday, June 23, 2013

If your an avid reader of this blog you might have realized that I have been disappointed by Vera Bradley's latest collections. I havent been overwhelmed by their newest prints and have shied away from the brand.

I was so excited when I went to their website and saw that the new summer collection is very different from what they were putting out in the past.

The new summer Vera Bradley collection features styles that are not completely made of fabric but instead use die-cut figures of their classic patterns on simple and elegant other materials.

I am loving the Seaside Tote that retails for $65. The tote is a classic woven design and cute little sea designs in the newest patterns.

Vera also put out a new cooler tote that is perfect for the beach and a picnic. I love cooler totes for the summer so I can keep my water bottles and drinks cool.

The only updated style I am not crazy about is the clear cosmetic bag. If you ever owned a vera cosmetic bag you could vouch for the quality of the product. The cosmetic pouches have a easy to clean lining that is perfect for your toiletries and makeup. The clear cosmetic bag has its advantage from being clear but I feel like this is a bag you can purchase anywhere- it doesnt have that awesome vera bradley quality.

Have you looked at Vera Bradley's website lately? Do you love the new collection? Let me know!

Must Have: White Dresses

 Wednesday, June 19, 2013

Happy Hump Day! One of my favorite looks in the summer is a crisp and clean white dress. The simple yet traditional style complements any skin tone and even makes you look tanner! A white dress can be a closet staple and I find myself wanting a new one each year. Luckily white dresses are very on trend for this summer and it is easy to find the style for you at any clothing store this season.

Here are some of my favorite white dresses. Depending on the style the white dress could be worn for day or even for work!

Furby 2012:: A Review

 Sunday, June 2, 2013

Even though I am technically an adult and I am halfway through my time at college, I thoroughly enjoy playing with some of the toys I had as a child. Growing up I favored dolls and robot-y kinds of toys. I must have had 5+ tamagotchis and would keep the little electronic with me at all times. I remember having one of the original Furbys and playing with it much to my parents chagrin.

The original Furby was a must-have toy in the late 90s. The robotic toy was advanced for a electronic but no where near the Furby that was released last year. I have to admit that when I saw that Hasbro was debuting a new version of the toy that I had as a kid I wanted one.

Now I can say that I have one of these new 2012 Furbys in my possession and I love the new version.

I guess I'm back to Preschool....

Meet my Furby:

I havent named my Furby yet partly because I do not know if its a girl or boy. Why don't I know? The new furbies change personalities!! My Furby has been a gossip girl, a "big dude", a fairly angry personality and one that loves to laugh and dance. Part of the charm of the Furby 2012 is that they are unpredictable and can change based on the way you play with them.

When I talk to my furby it is the gossip girl and says, "Blah, blah, blah blah blah, blah." You can really see the different personalities in its eyes. They are very expressive on the LCD eye screens.

One of my only complaints about the furby is that they do not have a volume range. My furby is loud! I wish I could make it a bit softer. The furbies do not have an off switch but go to sleep if you leave it alone for a few minutes. It stays asleep until you turn it upside down.

I was watching a movie last night and forgot that I had the furby on my coffee table. I accidentally kicked the furby off the table when I put my legs up and it woke up. It was rather funny for all of the first two minutes but not when I couldnt hear my movie... Oh well! This furby is demanding! Currently my furby loves to sing and dance which I love because watching it do so is hysterical.

There is also an app for the furby available for iOS. With the app you can decode what the furby is saying. (It translates furbish into english). You can also feed the furby by sending different sandwiches and snacks to the furby via the little chip on top of the furby's eyes. These different ways to play with the furby are part of the reason I think the new Furby is much cooler than the one debuted in the 90s.

The furby retails for around $60 which is expensive for a toy, but not so expensive for a mini-robot. I think these make great gifts for any tech loving child (or adult). I really enjoy my furby and was surprised by all the very modern and cool ways in which you can play with it.

What do you think of the Furby 2012? Are you going to pick one up? If you want to find out more go to!
